Look for cgpsmapper, MapSetToolKit and GmapTool.
You need some tools to get the work done. This is not a perfect solution but it works. You can for exempel import not yet released mapproducts to Mapsource like City Navigator Europe NT 2008 from a gmapsupp.img file. The Tools required is baked in with this release. My 760 has the original basemap, not the one being discussed here. The eMap isn't capable of giving directions, but as an experiment using my 760, I just set my location to Brasilia and then found Abadiania in cities, and the 760 is simulating a drive from Brasilia to Abadiania on major highways. I was as surprised to see the town on the eMap as I would have been to see it on my 760. So obviously it shows more than major cities. The only thing shown was the highway and the town beside it. Abadiania was shown on my eMap base map while I was there. In a very small town (Abadiania), the main street is a dirt road. The Basemap we've been discussing here, shows major roads as well (and they are routable). And if the base map is a world map (which it is) what areas aren't covered?įrom what I remember, the original basemap only showed the coastline and major cities, outside its main coverage area.
